CHRIS CONZ
Chris va néixer el 22 d’octubre de 1985 a Uster, Suïssa. A l’edat d’onze anys, en Chris va descobrir la sonoritat del Boogie Woogie i del Rock’n’Roll a través de Hamp Ruosch (un músic suís de Boogie Woogie i Rock’n’Roll molt popular). Des d’aquell moment es va sentir fascinat pel Boogie Woogie. Chris Conz va estudiar amb Hamp ,amb qui va aprendre les seves primeres línies de baix, i va rebre classes de piano a l’escola de música d’Uster. Als 16 anys, Chris va conèixer Silvan Zingg (conegut pianista de Boogie Woogie a Europa) en un concert. Encara recorda: “.. Durant la pausa vaig anar a preguntar-li què tal si jo toqués també un Boogie Woogie.” Un any més tard Chris Conz, com a convidat especial, va actuar al Festival Internacional de Boogie Woogie que en Silvan organitzava. Després d’això en Chris va començar a ser sol•licitat per diferents Festivals internacionals d’arreu del món Al 2002 Chris es va unir amb el seu suport percussiu, Mario Von Holten i va gravar el seu CD - Boogie Woogie Breakup. En Chris és també membre de la banda “Terry & The Hot Sox”. Chris Conz va visitar per primera vegada els Estats Units el passat mes de febrer 2008 on va actuar a Las Vegas, Nevada, com a artista convidat amb The Twins Dueling Piano Show. El seu estil segueix la tradició dels pianistes de Boogie Woogie europeu i està ple de força i energia. Desembre 2008

Chris Conz (born October, 22 1985 in Uster, Switzerland) is a Swiss jazz and blues pianist.
Conz has dedicated himself to boogie woogie since he was 11, a subgenre of blues music which he discovered with Hamp Ruosch, from whom he took lessons, and learned his first runs and patterns. In the process, he became influenced early on by musicians like Albert Ammons, Pete Johnson, Meade “Lux” Lewis, Axel Zwingenberger, and Vince Weber.
At age 16 he met Silvan Zingg, organizer of the International Boogie Festival, and soon Conz was making appearances as a surprise guest at Zingg’s festivals. After that he was invited to international festivals in different countries, sharing the stage with boogie woogie greats like Axel Zwingenberger, Vince Weber, Frank Muschalle, Bob Seeley.
In November 2004 Dave Ruosch left the group Terry & the Hot Sox, and 19-year-old Conz took his place. Terry & The Hot Sox band is the most popular and successful jive, swing, and R&R musicians in Switzerland.
In June 2009, Conz along with Terry & The Hot Sox, accompanied the American singer, Wanda Jackson, who became worldfamous in the 1960s because of her hit, “Let’s Have A Party.”
In August 2011 the Chris Conz Duo was invited to perform in the United Arab Emirates. There they played for ten days at the International Film Festival Abu Dhabi. In the same year, Chris and his trio won the “Kleiner Prix Walo” in the „Best New Talent Band 2011“ category. The Prix Walo is the most important award in Swiss show business, and is regarded as the "Swiss Oscar".
Today Chris is not only a solo pianist, but plays on the road with his duo and trio as well. Already, he has been able to play for private and public concerts in the USA, Spain, France, Germany, England, Austria, Italy, United Arabic Emirates and Switzerland. In February 2008 Chris had the opportunity to perform as a surprise guest in three different casinos in Las Vegas.
Since 2011, Chris has also been active as a presenter, organizing an annual International Boogie Nights in Uster, Switzerland.
