Auteur Compositeur interprète, Julien Brunetaud s'est d'abord fait connaitre comme pianiste aux cotés d' artistes de renom de la scene Blues et Jazz. En parallèle il a réussi à garder un espace pour composer et enregistrer sa musique. Avec la sortie de son nouvel album Playground, Il confirme aujourd'hui son engagement de musicien producteur éclectique, invétéré et passionné.

Originaire du Sud Ouest de la France. C’est le Rock’n Roll qui berce son enfance et lui donne l'envie d’apprendre le Piano. Très vite, il passe des heures à écouter et relever les solos d’Otis Spann, de Jerry Lee Lewis puis Count Basie, Horace Silver. Comme une force tranquille, il apprend et seul et autoproduit ses premiers albums.

Habité par le Rhythm & Blues, Julien ne pouvait faire autrement que de remonter à sa source, à la Nouvelle-Orléans, à l’occasion de plusieurs périples musicaux où il enregistrera les albums Orleans Street Boogie et Driftin’ Blues sous le label américain Southland Records (2005 et 2008). Les voyages aux Etats-Unis se répètent, comme lors d’une tournée au Mississippi où Julien joue en première partie de la légende BB King, ou ce long séjour à New-York où il affine sa formation au contact des maîtres Aaron Goldberg,

Georges Cables. Il sera récompensé a plusieurs reprises par les trophées France Blues comme meilleur pianiste Français et Européen. le Hot club de France lui décernera également le prix du meilleur album de l'année pour "Orleans Avenue Boogie" et sa premiere production " Nikki and Jules".

Seul au piano, en formation de trio ou de quartet, en sideman, c’est toujours la même énergie suave qui se dégage des prestations de Julien Brunetaud, qui a accompagné sur scène ou lors d’enregistrement de grands noms de la musique qu’il aime : l’électrique Chuck Berry, le clarinettiste surdoué Evan Christopher, la diva anglaise Dana Gillespie, la Grande Sophie...

​En 2016 Julien Brunetaud crée son nouveau terrain de jeu, Playground. Guidé par une voix et un piano définitivement groovy, ses compositions sont inspirées par les maitres des ivoires de la crescent city, Professor Longhair, Dr John ou Harry Connick Jr. Il se réapproprie également certains standards traditionnels. Principalement en combo Piano/ Basse / Batterie, formule qu'il affectionne particulièrement, Playground est agrémenté

de cuivres, choeurs et orgue hammond.

Singer-songwriter Julien Brunetaud was first recognised as a pianist, playing alongside well-known artists from the Blues and Jazz scenes. At the same time he managed to compose and record his own music. The release of his new album Playground attests to his engagement as an eclectic, passionate and dedicated musician and producer. 

       Originally from the South-West of France, he was brought up on Rock'n Roll, which is what made him want to learn the piano. Early on, he spent hours listening and transcribing the solos of Otis Spann, Jerry Lee Lewis, Count Basie and Horace Silver. Slowly but surely he taught himself the techniques to produce his first albums on his own. 

       Passionate about Rhythm & Blues, Julien had no choice but to go to it's very source, in New Orleans, on one of his many musical journeys when he'll record the albums "Orleans Street Boogie" and Driftin' Blues" under the American label Southland Records (2005 and 2008). During one of his many trips to the United States he played supporting act for Blues legend BB King, who was on tour in Mississipi. During another long trip to New-York he studied with Jazz masters Aaron Goldberg and George Cables.

He was rewarded on several occasions with France Blues trophies for the best French and European pianist. The French Hot Club also gave him the prize for best album of the year for "Orleans Avenue Boogie" and for his first production "Nikki and Jules".

      As a piano solo, with a trio, septet, or as a sideman, Julien Brunetaud always puts the same suave energy into his performances. Either while accompagning on stage or while recording with the great musicians of the music he loves: the electric Chuck Berry, talented Clarinettiste Evan Christopher, English diva Dana Gillespie, or La Grand Sophie...  

        Led by an undoubtedly groovy voice and a piano, Julien Brunetaud takes us into his own gaming space for his fourth album "Playground". Inspired by piano masters from the Crescent city Professor Longhair, Dr John ou Harry Connick jr, he introduces his compositions and revisits a couple of traditional standards. Playground proposes an original take on Contemporary piano blues.
